Hey, who doesn't love going off-roading, right? It's the ultimate adventure where you can let loose and conquer rugged terrains. But let's be real, we all dread the clean up after. We'd all rather be sipping a cold one and reminiscing about the trails instead of scrubbing off mud and dirt. But here's the deal, if we don't clean up after ourselves, we're risking causing damage to our off-road vehicle. So, in this blog post, we're gonna dish out some practical tips to help make the cleaning process a breeze, and keep our vehicle in tip-top shape.

1. RINSE
To start the cleaning process, it's essential to first rinse your 4WD with clean water. This removes loose debris and prepares your vehicle for the next steps. If you frequently go off-roading, we recommend investing in a pressure washer setup. This powerful tool will make quick work of removing large and loose debris, making the cleaning process faster and more efficient. By blasting off the dirt and grime, the water does most of the work for you. You can save time and effort while ensuring that your vehicle is thoroughly cleaned.
2. DEGREASE
Once you've rinsed off the larger debris, it's time to target the areas that have accumulated grease and grime during your off-road adventure. We recommend using a high-quality degreaser and spraying it on the undercarriage, suspension, and other areas that have collected dirt and grease. This step is especially crucial for CanAm enthusiasts who are taking on extreme off-road challenges. By applying the degreaser, you allow it to dwell for a few minutes, giving it time to break down the dirt and grime. This will make it easier to clean the areas, and it will prevent any build-up from causing long-term damage to your vehicle. With a quality degreaser, you can be sure that your 4WD is thoroughly cleaned and ready for the next adventure.
3. WHEELS
Now it's time to give your wheels and tyres some extra attention. These areas work hard on the trails, and they deserve some special TLC. Start by using a heavy-duty wheel cleaner to remove any built-up dirt, grime, and brake dust. This will make it easier to scrub away any remaining dirt and debris. For off-road tyres, we recommend using a scrub brush with stiffer bristles to help remove any caked-on dirt and mud. Make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies to ensure that your tyres are thoroughly cleaned.
For alloys, a wheel and rim brush with softer bristles is the way to go. These brushes are designed to be gentle on your rims, while still being effective at removing any dirt and debris. Make sure to get into all the tight cracks and crevices, as dirt and grime can accumulate in these areas over time. With a little extra attention, your wheels and tyres will be looking clean and shiny, ready for your next off-road adventure.
4. FOAMING
Foaming up your vehicle is an important step in the cleaning process as it helps to loosen any dirt, mud or debris that may have stuck to your vehicle. A heavy-duty snow foam is best for this job, and it's important to apply it generously to ensure that every inch of your 4WD is covered. When applying the foam, start at the top of the vehicle and work your way down, ensuring that you cover all areas, including the wheels and undercarriage.
Allow the foam to dwell for a few minutes, but make sure it doesn't dry on the vehicle. The time needed for the foam to dwell can vary depending on the product used, but 5 minutes is a good ball park. During this time, the foam will penetrate the dirt and grime, making it easier to rinse off later. It can be a good idea to agitate the foam with a mitt to help break up any stubborn grime. Once the foam has done its job, it's time to rinse it off.
5. FINAL RINSE
After letting the foam dwell for a few minutes, it's time to rinse off the soap and grime from your 4WD. Use clean water from your pressure washer to remove all the foams and dirt. Make sure to get into all the little areas such as under the fender flares and around the door handles. A thorough rinse is essential to ensure that all the dirt and soap are removed, leaving your vehicle looking clean and shiny. Take your time and go over the entire vehicle to make sure you haven't missed any spots.
